In 2018 I started B&G Trading with no outside money. By 2021 it had done $4,042,782, hit a $453,794 peak month, and been acquired. I built every growth system in it personally: paid acquisition, CRM, SEO, email, and ops. Nobody handed me a playbook, so I wrote one.
I started in enterprise sales. Four years at Auction Technology Group, first as an account manager and implementation specialist, then running the US heavy equipment and agriculture division. That's where I learned what a real pipeline looks like and how fast a bad one falls apart.
Then I went and built my own. B&G Trading was a B2B wholesale marketplace for liquidated name-brand apparel sourced straight from major retailers. I did the sourcing, the ads, the CRM, the email, the hiring, and eventually the exit. Thirteen people, 50,000 subscribers, $50K a month in ad spend that had to pay for itself every month.
After the acquisition I co-founded Skale Media in San Diego and started doing the same work for other founders. $12M+ in attributable client revenue since. Somewhere in there I realized the hardest part of every engagement had stopped being strategy and started being engineering, so I went and got certified properly: Stanford, Wharton, IBM, Nvidia, Vanderbilt, Anthropic.
Now I write the Python, architect the agents, and run the funnel. Same person, all three layers. That's the part clients tell me is hard to find.
Clients tell me the reason they stay is that I answer the question they asked, quote a number, and then do the thing. That's not a philosophy, it's just how I'd want to be treated.
Dollar amounts, timelines, and terms spelled out. Never "we can work something out."
Not an account manager, not a junior. I keep the client list small on purpose.
I'll honor a quote whenever you're ready. If the timing's wrong, the timing's wrong.
Hands on the keyboard. You get working systems, not a deck and a retainer.
I'm based in San Diego with my wife and our dog. Fly fishing in Montana, riding when I get the chance, and open water whenever it's close. I studied abroad in Finland and got a philosophy degree before any of this, which explains more about how I think than the certifications do.
The full certification list lives on Credentials.
30 minutes, no pitch deck. Tell me where you are and I'll tell you what I'd do about it.
